Udaipur City Palace

Udaipur City Palace is one of the architectural marvels of Rajasthan, located on the banks of Lake Pichola. This majestic City Palace is the most-visited tourist attraction of Udaipur and often distinguished as the largest palace complex in Rajasthan.

The City Palace was built concurrently with establishment of the Udaipur city by Maharana Uday singh, in 1553 and his successor Maharanas over a period of the next 300 years.

Udaipur City Palace is a majestic architectural marvel towering over the lake on a hill surrounded by crenallated walls, 

Udaipur City Palace is a conglomeration of  courtyards, pavilions, terraces, corridors, rooms and hanging gardens. 

Udaipur City Palace main entrance is through the triple arched gate, the ‘Tripolia’with eight marble porticos. 

The Maharana were weighed under the gate in the gold,the equivalent amount of which was distributed among the populace.
